On the second album since their hiatus, COMR have put in work and it shows. From the first two tracks (both singles) we hear a change of pace from, “VII.” “The Only Difference...” is much more influenced by the band’s roots. Lush acoustic arrangements, accompanied by swirling vocal melodies and harmonies. Everything points back to the basement era COMR we all know and love. However, in songs like, North Dakota: The Rise and Ow! Ow! Ow!, we hear a complete departure from the original sound, creating a perfect pairing between the two. As the album comes to a close, a bridge is crossed, a heart is mended and our favourite CT Green Rockers guide us into a new era. From New Jersey to South Dakota, we witness a rebirth of a nation. We couldn’t do it without you.
